Nel 1970 la stamperia newyorkese SUNDAY B MORNING, fondata da alcuni grandi amici di Andy Warhol, decide di lanciare una ristampa della prima serie “MARILYN”, che aveva appena avuto un incredibile successo internazionale. Warhol però, si rifiuta di collaborare per quella nuova serie. La Sunday B Morning non demorde e dà comunque il via alla produzione, ponendo però sul retro un timbro con la scritta: “Published by Sunday B. Morning” e “Fill in your own signature”, ovvero “Metti la tua firma”. Di fronte a questa presa di iniziativa e vista la grande amicizia che lo legava ai fondatori della stamperia, Warhol, avendo grande senso dell’ironia, ma soprattutto di business, decide di firmare sul retro delle opere “This is not by me, Andy Warhol”, “Non l’ho fatta io, Andy Warhol”. Queste opere, ebbero successo tanto quanto la prima edizione e contribuirono ad accrescere la sua popolarità. Questa mia serie rappresenta un omaggio al grande artista pop Andy Warhol.

In 1970 the New York printing house SUNDAY B MORNING, founded by some great friends of Andy Warhol, decided to launch a reprint of the first series “MARILYN”, which had just had an incredible international success. Warhol however, refuses to collaborate on that new series. The Sunday B Morning does not give up and still starts the production, however placing a stamp on the back with the words: "Published by Sunday B. Morning" and "Fill in your own signature", or "Put your signature". Faced with this initiative and given the great friendship that bound him to the founders of the printing house, Warhol, having a great sense of irony, but above all of business, decides to sign on the back of the works "This is not by me, Andy Warhol ”,“ I didn't do it, Andy Warhol ”. These works were as successful as the first edition and helped to increase its popularity. This series of mine is a tribute to the great pop artist Andy Warhol.
